magicicadasad: the phone portion of my phone/pda has died. i can hear people who call, but they can't hear me.
mad: visiting the sprint store was an exercise in frustration. the only palm phone they have is the treo and i cannot stand the design[1]. i might be willing to compromise a bit if the price were reasonable, but with an $150 discount for a 2 yr agreement it would still be over $300. also, forgive me for being a bit snooty, but when i am trying to purchase a high-tech device, i want to speak to someone who graduated high school. repeating endlessly, 'uh this one upgrades to the windows' is not the way to push the fancy phones.
amusing: i got a call on my cellphone. it was a 888 number, so i answered out of curiousity. i figured that even if they couldn't hear me, i could at least get company name, etc. heh, it was sprint with a 'courtesy call' to see how i liked my recent visit. even better, it was a fully automated survey that i was able to FULLY fill out without using the mike. best of all, there's a contest associated with the survey. my current plan is to find a cheap samsung i500[2] on ebay. this is the model which is still available, and will run on sprint's network, but they have yanked from the shelves to force people to buy the newer model :P. i would very much appreciate it if the morons at sprint could finance my new phone.

[2]the cons are not features that concern me. i don't care about expansion ability. i've got more than enough room on the model i have now. i think combining phone and pda is fancy enough, mp3's and camera ability are not necessary, and i LIKE graffiti. i don't want any device that's going to cause thumb cramps, when i'm getting along just fine with my stylus.
