mid afternoon ramble
Apr. 30th, 2003 03:20 pmsylvia is sleeping. she hasn't slept since eightish (am). i generally have encouraged her to find her own schedule, but she was obviously getting tired. i think there's some definite insomniac tendencies. then again, she's only three months old.
i have accomplished something today. i have gotten *almost* all of my garden catalogs in a nifty binder (ok, 2 binders, but they're small). i just spotted a brent and becky's bulbs catalog which was hiding under the general rubble pile on my desk. it's not the most important mission to accomplish, but it will eliminate one source of frustration.
tasks to accomplish before end of day:
1)call back the temp agency which seems to have some vague interest in me. this is cool, but i'd be more excited if sylvia would take nourishment other than directly from the tap. i'm not sure how this is going to work out.
2)prep bills. i think jeff's going to have to do the actual online payment deal because i still am 3 months behind in quicken.
hmm...
2b)get caught up in quicken
3)cut veggies for salad.
4)fold sylvia's clothes.
5)fold adult clothing.
she's still sleeping
ah, ok i'm stitching in here the why i'm journalling post:
i feel the need to *do* something. i'm feeling disconnected from old friends. i am a shy, person who somehow needs other people. i haven't entirely figured this one out yet, but i'm working on it. i have not written enough. yes, i have a really good excuse right now, but i think i should be doing more and by journalling i am using one of the classic anti-writers block techniques - just write till you know what you *want* to write. this site reminds me of vax(long story) in some way.
random confession:
this site is helping me remember to turn on my music because i hate to say 'nothing' on the current music line. however, i will probably not do the anal retentive checking of artist each time the song flips after this. i prefer my music well mixed and it can be safely assumed that i'm using shuffle on the entirety of my mp3 collection most of the time.
ok, enough stolen time. i'm going to see if sylvia will stay asleep through the fetching of the bills and switchover to the other computer.
