daily briefing
May. 28th, 2003 10:44 pmbottle wars continue. the latest attempt was monday? and it was a complete disaster. not even the switcheroo was effective. jeff is in there working with sylvia and it looks like she might be coming around. this is after some really bad crying that had me and rumble freaked out. after we were shooed away, rumble sat in my lap and buried his nose in my elbow. he's not a very social cat, but he does get very concerned when sylvia is upset. the first couple of weeks he gave us some dirty looks when she would cry, suggesting that we needed to take care of this little one. well, we were trying and that's all we can do now. i'm hearing some "good girl's" so there may be hope.
in other news, i am considering applying to a movie theater. i have a feeling this is one of those jobs that is not as fun as it sounds, but the hours would be a perfect match and the theater is very close to our house. then again, unemployment in the area is bad and there's every chance i'll be rejected entirely.
i discovered that sylvia is big enough that i can read the paper to her without holding her! she is happy propped in the corner of the couch for vast lengths of time.
i had a weird experience today. i laid sylvia down in the crib the long way and when i came back she was facing the other way, toes towards the sides of the crib. i was impressed, but not completely convinced so i straightened her up again. sure enough, when i came back she was facing diagonally halfway between the two positions. later jeff and i both watched her moving from one side to the other. not too shabby, now if only she could figure out rolling over.
