what a day
May. 30th, 2003 02:08 pmok, i'm not sure whether to be impressed with myself or call for a trank gun. both tuesday and thursday, i had managed to get myself (and sylvia) up in time to get to the mommy & me class halfway across town. so, managing to get to shelley lake just up the road should be no problem, right? i woke up at 9:35 and managed to get myself: dressed, brushed (teeth and hair), shoes and to get sylvia's diaper changed, and dressed (she'd nursed around 8:30 thankfully), got everybody in the car and the diaper bag reloaded with wipes - all by 9:50. we arrived at the parking lot at shelley lake exactly at 10 am. and yes, ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
h_postmortemus, i did manage to eat. i had a chewy bar and a piece of bread :p.
there were 3 other people there from the mommy group, all of whom walked faster than me :(. i managed to keep up with conversation somewhat, but it's hard when you're just trying to keep up. i've never been much on speed and cardio exercise. i much prefer strength training. around the halfway point there was some stroller rearranging and one of the people who had been in the lead came back to talk with me. everyone was pleasant and we talked about babies sleeping(not), and a bit of discussion about daycare and returning to work. i mentioned my plans to apply for a job at the movie theater and the instant response was, 'that sounds like fun'. sigh, let's hope so.
we finished walking around the lake around 11pm and i'm pretty sure i recognized a few people from the mommy & me class who were just arriving. i shouldn't be too surprised, as shelley lake is downright infested with strollers.
i arrived home, changed sylvia, and put her in her crib to do her groove thing while i took a very quick shower. when i got out she was clearly displeased. still in robe, i fed her and that seemed to be all she needed. then i changed into non-sweaty clothes and had breakfast and lunch. yea, you heard me right. i wasn't giving up my daily bagel and coffee that easy. besides, all i had for lunch was a healthy choice pizza.
jeff got home for lunch almost exactly at 1pm and i changed to apply at the theater. this is one of those things where they just say 'apply in person 1-4 pm'. the parking lot probably had about 20 cars, though a good half of those were contractor vehicles. i'm still not sure if i was overdressed or underdressed. this was just a walk in and fill out an app situation. however, i did meet the manager and i know i outclassed many of the teens who were applying with me in shorts and t-shirt. i got back home around 2pm and took over sylvia watching and prepared to decompress.
it's now nearly 3:30 and i *think* i may have felt some bumps on sylvia's upper gums. time will tell. i'm almost eager for her first teeth to come in, because she's still not back to sleeping through the night and i'm stuck for reasons.
