today's accomplishment
Nov. 20th, 2003 04:23 pmi cut down a tree today. it's not everyday you can say that. it was a sad, sickly bradford pear tree that we have hated since we moved in. i had sylvia in her stroller in one hand and the saw in the other. after parking sylvia a safe distance away, i did the little thingy where you cut a notch to make the tree fall the direction you want and it worked perfectly! it was a small enough tree that it probably would not have caused much harm even if it did fall the wrong way, but i still felt quite proud of myself. the front garden bed looks so much better without it.

Nov. 20th, 2003 10:14 pm... an HR Block certified tax preparer. :)
i should know by the first week in december if i will actually be working for hr block. i had technically passed, but found a grading snafu and now have an A for the final exam and for the course itself :). the last class was quite nice. we had a quickie review of the 2003 changes (hurray for married people, especially if they have kids) and then snacks and beverages. after warning us not to bring alcohol, the prof got the class 4 bottles of champagne :).

p.s. did i mention that i was the only one in the class that found a partial exception to a penalty :)? *boing(really geeky accountant style)boing*
