i'm not sure why i try to bother thinking of subjects for my journal entries. they are usually just a mad scramble, or so it seems from this side of the monitor. which reminds me, [livejournal.com profile] h_postmortemus upped the refresh rate on my monitor to help with my headaches, and while it looked a lot better, my eyes are starting to hurt again. hmm, i'm next to a heat vent. that's probably not helping things at all. sigh. i really can be an idiot sometimes.

i would like to present as a further example, a major thing which i managed to completely space from my memory. starting tomorrow and going on to the end of the semester, i will be picking up laric from school and hanging out with him for an hour till his mom gets home. now, i remembered that i needed to get the extra carseat from catherine, and i remembered that i would be taking care of him for her during meetings and workdays, but i had forgotten the default condition of every day between when the toddlers get out and the toddler teachers are done.

anyways, i went to get laric at school today. catherine was very precise about the route that i should take to avoid seeing her and his brother so he wouldn't get upset. well, when i went to get him, his nose was running and he was a little zombie, very passively taking my hand and walking beside me with his cute little steps. sure enough, i got a call later that laric was sick and catherine was doing her best to keep the kids separated. so, tomorrow laric's staying home sick and i won't have to pick him up again until friday. i also work friday and i'm not sure what i'll do if he's still sick.

today's big news is that i got an actual client - woohoo! i had been feeling very down about the whole tax prep thing despite assurances that the season just hadn't kicked into gear yet. however, things are now noticeably perking up. i got my w-2 from the old job today. hrblock itself should be sending one, but they are notorious about being the last to send their own. anyways, i cannot say very much about the client due to really strong confidentiality agreements. however, he was friendly, i was comfortable and although the actual assembly of the massive amounts of paper was a bit rough, that's hard even for the more experienced tax preparers as they change things every year. w00t. can you say w00t about taxes?
