while the boss is away

the mouse will make lj entries. hmmm... now, if only i could remember
what i was going to post about.

how about my job and the delicious slackness of the arrival times. at
the old job, i was scolded for arriving literally less than a minute
late. yes, that's right, the bosslady was pointing at the second hand
as if it was supposed to mean something to me.

at this job, my record of lateness without consequence is 20 minutes
late. i was the first person of my team of 4 to arrive as one was
expected to be out, a second was delayed unexpectedly by a sick kid and
the 3rd was delayed by the same awful weather that had made me arrive
later than i had expected. ah, sweet slackness. should i mention the
jeans and sneaks or would that be too over the top?

(no subject)

i am thinking about a cat. and without trying to get my hopes up too
much, that is a good thing to be thinking about.

i am trying not to think about the multiple compatibility tests and
the uber-important medical checks, and the lifetime commitment not to
be made casually....

man...

she's a tortie by the way, and i am trying very very hard not to think
about names.

not the right kitty

ixnay on the atcay. the owners of the potential feline family member have shown up. i think the worst thing about this is that i had done a very good job of denying to myself that i needed another kitty. but i cannot deny how good i felt when i thought this little tortie might be coming home with us. so, despite the fact that the economics may not be lining up as well as they could be, we are planning a trip to the animal shelter as soon as we get back from our great florida adventure.
