I'm on a radioactive high
Jan. 10th, 2006 09:10 amNew semester, new classes. I'm continuing in French with FLF 201, Intermediate French Part 1. I've got the same prof, but a different classroom. It is a rather odd classroom, shallow and wide located in the same building as this. My french professor is allergic to chalk dust which she mentioned last semester has caused some odd last minute classroom reassignments. It's worth it.
French class itself was ok. She spoke to us in English for most of the class, which I was expecting as she likes to set people at ease and it is much more efficient for communicating syllabus information. However, she said Wednesday (Mercredi), it would be our turn for speaking French and that we would not be speaking in English (Although I am sure she will, on occasion) for the rest of the semester. I had been half hoping for that. I am ready for a taste of immersion. I printed out the degree requirements for a French major and the double major is looking a lot more likely. It *might* be an extra semester, but that depends how efficient I can be with my electives.
Yesterday was just an odd day all around, even without the occasional mini-reactor. I had to get to work at 8am. I was driving from work to school instead of the reverse. The bus I take to class is running part of its route backwards due to a road being closed. I went from work to school to working at home, worked 10 hrs and was watching Sylvia during the evening portion while Jeff went to a meeting. Oh yes, and he was late getting back from his meeting which led to Sylvia not wanting to go to sleep at all. Ergh.
Nobody wanted to wake up this morning - not even Sylvia who didn't get to sleep until after 10pm. It is a mighty good thing I have tomorrow off. I am hoping that Jeff got to work on time and that my 2 hr break will be enough for me to recharge. Tomorrow I have 2 classes, but no work and I will get to see if the Hindu-Urdu poetry class is worth all the crazy schedule changes.
