- a bit of goodness dropped into my lap. i have a final research paper due this sunday. i haven't done much work on it (some toodling around the internet), but it is a lower priority class, and a mere 3 page paper out of the english dept. it's amazing how much easier it is to produce non-literary wordcount. the class is technological disasters and i'm going to focus on Liberty Ships. Anyways... this is an internet class and i have truly enjoyed reading the other student's research on previous topics. i believe that i have learned more from my fellow students than in most other classes. i suddenly realized today that there were probably students who had finished their research papers, and lo' it was true. i skimmed the 4 examples posted on the website and got a good idea of average word count and documentation styles. one of my hardest struggles in my first few english classes at NCSU was getting up to speed on MLA. i was afraid that i would need to use APA which i barely remember and do not have a book for or worse some other sciency type documentation style. the trendsetter students have used a mixture of styles, but at least 2 have used MLA.
- 2 hrs a night studying is tough when i can't really start until 9pm and really should get in a workout each day. i had a bit of rebellion tonight where i did everything in the wrong order. i checked my low priority classes, got a minor assignment completed in the PE class and reassured myself about the Techno Castastrophes paper. i also spent way too much time toodling on lj. let me tell you. some people ask me how i keep up with this schedule and the answer is that every so often, i drop everything possible.

- i also did my french homework backwards and worked on the strictly optional extra credit assignment first - memorizing a french poem. it's a fairly repetitive simple poem, but it gets me closer to doing what i like. i really enjoyed the exercise. now we'll see if i can get it cemented in my head for class tomorrow. all i worked on this evening was getting the structure down.
