Will a princess party dress dry faster hanging inside, by a window, over an A/C vent or outside, in the direct sun with ungodly humidity?

I'd go with the inside, drier air.

Over the A/C vent, in view of a sunny window if possible. The A/C is pumping out dehumidified air.

(frogging) actually, inside, in front of a sunny window, with a fan blowing, would probably be ideal.

Outside or over the AC vent. *g* I'd go for the AC vent if its on continuous flow, IMO. I've dried sneakers out fast that way.

We usually just hang 'em on the towel rack in the bathtub...

the window is only marginally sunny and there's not much that I can change there, but I hear thunder! I think it's inside for the win.

Ah, but the corresponding princess will be home in an hr and want her dress :).

...especially now that I am hearing thunder ;).

Erk. That does make it more difficult.

I usually involve our princess in the princess-laundering. It gives a nice Cinderella-feel to the proceedings... ;)

In front of the A/C vent, definitely.

In front of the a/c vent... and if there's still residual dampness as the time draws nigh? hang it on the shower curtain rod and blow dry it.

dear princess,

Your laundry wench had a bit of trouble with a rainstorm and a healthy fear of lightening (i should tell you that you might want to consider this threat real, since even your daddy knows i was struck, and lived to tell the tale).

Therefore the Queen took it upon herself to wash the dress, and it will take a bit of doing before it's dry despite her consulting with the myrad of admirers you have.

Love,

The fairy frog-mother

IN this ungodly heat i'd just put the thing on and hope it will cool me. :)

blowdrier, when desperate. Squeeze first with towels, then blowdry moving drier quickly, until mostly but not wholly dry. Should not shrink since not fully dry. Good luck.
