the dark side of christmas

I'm going to play.
I NEED to play!
NO NAP!!!

this is accompanied by the traditional kicking of feet as the child is lifted bodily from her nest of toys.

if only Meg still napped.

Actually, if it wasn't for NORAD Santa tracking, last night might have been much more difficult... "Santa's in Cuba! That means he's getting close and you need to be in bed!"

at school she naps after lunch most days. at home, she naps from around 3:30-5:00, which is a bit dysfunctional, but better than nothing. she did sleep and then was extremely angry when we woke her up an hour later. i think that i have decided that there is going to be a 'quiet period' in the afternoon until she is 16.

The boys have a quiet time. This is a misnomer. It should be stay-in-our-room-but-empty-all-the-toy-bins-and-strip-the-sheets-off-our-bed-while-screaming time.
