All of this sounds familiar. Once it was cured by prune juice (the doctor told me to give her prune juice in her milk and she was about 4 months old). A little later she pooed a rock with much screaming. She had never been constipated before or since and she was on a breast milk only diet at the time. It doesn't make sense to me but the prune juice did the trick.
Several months before teeth came in she went through a teething fit but no teeth. It was a teething fit though. Look for bumps in her gums. The gums won't be red but there will be bumps. Anna started teething and then stopped for a while and then started again. Anna recently didn't have any teeth come in for months and in the past month she has eight come in. Maybe Sylvia is doing the same thing. Rubbing her gums might help.
Is there any drooling? Is Sylvia grabbing at her ear? Rubbing her nose? Slamming her head? Any strange behaviors? Any repetitive behaviors? Any clues?
There are frequently fussy fits for no reason so get used to them. The good news is in about a year she will be able to communicate what is bothering her.
