spent today home with sylvia again. she was barely sick at all and probably could have gone back to daycare in the afternoon, but that would have messed with her routine. so, during the morning, i was mean and didn't let her go outside because she was still sick. in the afternoon we played games with boring mommy, and then in the late afternoon i went off to the fancy-schmancy yarn store that's not open on sundays.

lunchtime the plan was that jeff would zip over to the animal shelter and bring home our kitty. the idea being that we would just bring her back on the 19th to get spayed. when he got there, it turns out they had an extra vet who was operating very quickly and they could fit her in today. so no mid-day cat bonus, but we wouldn't need to take her back to the shelter.

sylvia was a complete doll. i actually put her in a store full of balls (BALL!) of yarn and she sat quietly and played. the box of store toys helped, but she was just unbelievably well behaved. i ended up only buying yarn although i actually went looking for needles, because the only needles they had were bamboo which are lovely, but more than i wanted to pay.

we come home and wait for jeff to arrive with kitty. he's later than expected due to traffic on 440, but arrives with kit in cardboard box. he takes her straight downstairs as she's groggy and in a bad mood. we eat dinner, i go downstairs briefly to say hi and she's cautiously friendly and still beautiful as ever.

*quick shower*

i run off to the charity knit group and discover that i've managed to hit session 3 of 3. sigh, i start on a lovely yellow scarf that i'm sure i can get finished by the time they distribute the stuffies.

back home, sylvia is asleep, but not so the amazing purrbot. she is not yet named, but she is extremely friendly. on top she looks like a tortoiseshell. her toes are half white and she has a splash of white on her chest and stomach. each time i would go downstairs, she would be under the futon, but it only takes a hello and a crooked finger to entice her out. she spent about an hr running back and forth between jeff and i, getting petting and purring in return. she is very sweet and we are still not sure of her name, although we have a few possibilities.

more later, i really really need to go to sleep.

ah, but i hate referring to her as 'the unnamed kitty' and it's somewhat awkward when we're calling her. c'mere, ah you there...

new names are being added to the pot and old names tossed. i will give no hints, but apparently the latest prospect is also a transformer.

purrbot:
purrbot is a title, not a name. i call all cats this and kit-kat.

3 of 3

yep, that's what it means. i sent my email inquiry when i saw the first date in the newspaper and found out they'd listed the wrong date.

for the second session, i can't remember if someone was sick or just getting over being sick, but it was just too much.

the good news is that there were enough people disappointed that there were only three sessions, that they're thinking of having some sessions in spring.
