Transgender mysteries
If a man becomes a woman, does he defeat male pattern baldness or would the new woman begin losing her hair at the appropriate age?

If male pattern baldness is defeated, I find it interesting that vain men, who have certainly resorted to some bizarre strategems, have not made the leap to keep their precious hair follicles.

If not, are potential male-female transgenders warned of a theoretical upper age limit for making the switch? How unfortunate it would be to invest thousands of dollars, an equivalent amount of social and emotional upheaval and *still* have to wear a wig.

It depends on what medication they're taking, and some men do take the leap, in a sense. Propecia suppresses a certain variety of androgen. A broader androgen suppressant can have the same effect. One may or may not have to apply something like Rogaine to get back the hair that's been lost.

That's what you get when you know a transsexual who's also a medical fetishist... or maybe it's what you get when you marry Jeff the Riffer. :)
