Blame her (*points to fuzzygabby for my being here - I'm curious to learn from you how you found this article? I noticed that it's from around the year 2000 and I'm amazed that this aspect of the whole debate has not acquired more focus.
As for how you found the article, I wouldn't be surprised if you said you were a regular reader of the author's - I checked out other bits of the writer's website, and she's got an amazing stable of activist writing, one well worth highlighting more regularly.

i believe that it was a 'link of a link' which is why i did not specifically credit the path. laurahcory linked to a discussion and (if i remember correctly) the link to this site was in the comments.
i have held back from most discussion on this dreck and other recent happenings because it just gets my blood pressure up, but i felt this was a link that needed wide distribution.
