BEST MASCOT EVER

Whittier College must be a truly excellent place, although i know nothing about it save these three things:

-they are in california
-their school colors involve purple
-their mascot is 'The Poet'

this has led them to the next DAMN SPIFFY thing which has led me to sing their praises, this t-shirt. it is oh-so-backordered and i oh-so-do-not-care. it will be mine. join me, FEAR THE POET! and while you may tremble meekly in your boots at the very tap-tap-tapping at my keyboard, i am seeing this more in a a biblical awe kind of sense :).

i had a short phone conversation with nice bookstore lady and she assures me they will be increasing their order of these shirts :).

*grin* The manager guy told me that they thought "FEAR THE POET" was a better slogan than "run away from the crazy person." I just about died laughing.

Go for it! everyone i have talked to from this bookstore is very pleasant and they are just tickled that the reception has been so positive.

I wore this shirt to the sf poetry reading I did last night in Pasadena. Unfortunately, since I was in a hurry and had been virtually living out of my suitcase for a week (I had trips to Minneapolis & Fresno within the last 7 days), I grabbed a random pair of jeans which turned out to be a pair which fit so poorly that they are unsuitable for being in public let alone being photographed and put on the internet.

However, I'm a poet not a fashion consultant, so I guess I'll live....

Here's [livejournal.com profile] ravenelectrick photos of the event:
