the weather finally broke, thank goodness. the napbuster program continues to go smoothly. sylvia only slept in her crib for an hour last night, but *clears throat* that was long enough, nudge nudge wink wink. today sylvia slept for a bit over a half hour after mommy & me class while we all went over to schlotzsky's. i recommend the kung pao chicken pizza, it is quite tasty. however, it is not as spicy as the thai chicken pizza. i even had a triple chocolate cookie for dessert and there was an amusing discussion amongst the nursing mommies about how our appetites have increased. we are all shamelessly enjoying it while we can get away with it. mmm, eating for two. sylvia was all bubbled up in her car seat/stroller and yet woke up well. usually when she wakes up and can't see she howls.
towards afternoon she started getting fussy and we rocked and i hummed lullabies (and i didn't think i had it in me) until she fell asleep. put baby in crib - scream of the banshee ensues. pick up baby and rock, put in carseat, whimpering and wakefullness ensue. pick up baby and rock, put in car seat, glazed baby falls asleep within minutes. and there was much rejoicing.
gardening report:
one of the wildflower seedlings has bloomed. being a wildflower it is a tiny flower, but a truly beautiful reddish/purple. i'm sure it will look better once the plants get bigger. daylilies are continuing to form buds, but no flowers today. one of the caladiums has unfurled enough to see colors and it is the most wonderful deep red.
