I'm at ~ 1398/3125 words on the Hindu/Urdu paper which is pretty darn good for me. What is not good, and in fact is halting all further progress is the way that Microsoft Word is messing with me. In order to outline as I go, I divided the conclusion from my notes in the middle of the paper with a series of 3 stars. Word wanted to make those a solid bulleted line and I went along with it because it helped keep things organized. Well, then I started rearranging the draft section and all the sudden I had bars above and below the drafts. That was less ok, but I could cope until I realized that the bars could NOT be deleted. No matter what version of highlighting, cutting etc, I try, the bars are unstoppable. Now they are in the actual document and even cutting and pasting to a new document does not get rid of them. I also discovered that if I try spacing them out to the end of the paper, they will 'stick' at the end of each page and multiply. I have got to get rid of these lines before I finish the paper as there is a chance I may email it to the professors. Even worse, I can't format the block quotes in the paper because the lines are replicating inside the quoted section.

HELP. does this sound even vaguely familiar? I'm going to take a break and try to get some other errands done before tackling this some more.
