anyone else watch the finals of the spelling bee? that was an absolute blast.

i got at least 6 words. i stopped counting after a bit[1]. ironically, i did not get croquignole? which was also a word which our team failed on during the corporate spelling bee. ah well. i love english in all its strangeness, but i must admit that one of the words i got was straight out of my french class last year - douane. the tivo cut out before the grand finale so i was not able to give my try at weltschmerz(?), but the poet in me applauds such an appropriate final word.

the finals for THE national spelling bee were broadcast on network television live, and in primetime for the first time ever. it was worth watching just for the novelty.

I didn't happen to watch it although I heard about it. Spelling aloud was never my strong suite....I need to write it to figure out how to spell it.
