Bauhaus/NIN

that was intense and wonderful. there are many things that i could say, but time is short. i will leave you with two thoughts:
1. Bauhaus
The first time I was saw Bauhaus was during a presentation in my gifted english class in high school. This was before multimedia presentations were such a given. the presentations were a full class period and it was quite a big deal. i did mine on Kurt Vonnegut. I'm not sure what the main theme of the project including Bauhaus was. I believe it may have been vampire books or some such. In any case, the guy played Bela Lugosi's dead and I was blown away. I did not listen to it very often, because the music is a bit much at times, but always held a good amount of respect for the band. Seeing Bela Lugosi's Dead performed live with the extended instrumental intro was unbelievable. I felt like I had been waiting all the time since I saw the video on that tiny little screen to experience that moment.
2. NIN
I went into this concert not knowing if I could still feel all those intense feelings. If I could still appreciate that level of emotion. That would be a yes. I don't even know which song to start with. The angry songs made me feel triumphant for being past those times. The wistful songs were true. It was downright giddy to be with my husband of 11 yrs going on infinity for the love songs. I felt again like a circle had been completed. I first saw NIN at the University Ballroom on UF campus. The ad was about 3 inches long in the classifieds and the room only held 500 people. It was downright lifechanging. I would not say that this experience was lifechanging, but perhaps life affirming. You really can become downright boring and still get flat out crazy sometimes.
An extra special thanks to
cislyn for watching the small fry. I did think about her a few times, but I knew she was in safe hands.
