Birthday over - still good
Jun. 15th, 2006 12:31 ami am not going to do a long rambly post - I AM NOT! i need to go to bed. however, i will mention a few things:
- Alberto came to town. the short version is that because it was my birthday (!!!), i had the day off and was able to sleep late. raining, sleeping late...mommy nirvana.
- went to NCSU, clarified my major to Creative Writing (i had to apply to NCSU for the Language, Writing & Rhetoric program, but i was told it would be non-issue to switch, and it was), added my second major, went upstairs and over a building to meet with 'my' advisor (she is actually the "english" advisor, and she is pretty darn good, but i now have my own advisor as i'm officially in the dept[1]). we reviewed credits and such and have everything pretty much worked out. the surprise was that one of the courses she recommended that i take is an Honors course. i had actually seen it and been tempted, but afraid to ask if i could take it because i thought NCSU was included my old GPA in such calcuations. nope, now that i'm admitted NCSU only cares about NCSU. so... if i take this one and 2 grad level courses (not two onerous as that's where you get the really cool poetry seminars)...i'll graduate with honors....
good birthday treat. there were others, but i will parcel them out later as it is time to SLEEP! (do you like the way i made the short post much longer with all the parenthetical comments?[2])
[1] this was another nice treat. my new advisor is the 'poet in residence' who will be teaching the honors course[3].
[2] and footnotes
[3] HON-IMAGE & POEM (not much room for a description in the course schedule and there is no course description as it's a rotating topics course or as my adviser described it a 'once in a lifetime course' aw shit, there ain't no way i'm skipping this.
p.p.s. still exercising, although i skipped today.
