Best support call question EVAR (or at least so far)

Background: I work customer support for a company providing software to the rail industry. it's fairly complicated, but most of the people calling me are much more knowledgeable than I am about those big things that run on tracks. There is a whole private vocabulary for much of this stuff that I am only beginning to learn.
The Question: Do rail trains run during the night? Do they all just stop where they are?
I answered that all trains do not stop at night. I was able to answer the question not from my years of working with trains, or any special training that I had received, but from the experience of riding AMTRAK! Unfortunately, his other questions made it clear that he actually does have something to do with the train industry. I cannot wait for his next question.
