we'd tried a lot of methods, but what worked was a low down dirty trick. in rapid succession:
i pumped milk
jeff fed her as much as she would take (not much)
i breastfed her and then (this is the sneaky part)
snuck the nipple of the bottle over mine...
it didn't fool her, but she tried it for a bit before she got too frustrated
lather, rinse, repeat
in the end she was slurping down the last drop and looking for more.
the experiment will be repeated on a daily basis, hopefully. i think we're on our way.
*big sigh of relief*

but wait! it gets better. we did it again today and no trickery was required. she settled right down with jeff :) now i can consider brief part time jobs to extend my time at home.
