odd bird

It is 11:40 pm at night here and a bird just started singing about 5 minutes ago. It doesn't sound like a distress call of any type, just a happy little morning bird. Either he/she is utterly confused about the time, or very strange.

Go bird, go! I feel like making some coffee and moving on with life.

That sounds logical, but from the variety of sound, I would think it was a mockingbird. In fact, he sounded a lot like the bird that I can here now at 9:22 am. I'm going to go with the insomniac theory.

we had a mocking bird last week defending his territory at midnight. i think they get thrown off by street lights and such. the mocking birds outside CSE used to sing all night long because of all the lights there. at least the chicks probably grow fast. wiggy, but fast.
