I cannot think why this woman was not invited to her sister's wedding. I think I should send my sister a nice note to thank her for not being a raving psychotic.

I can. We eloped because we knew that Donna had and would continue to take over our wedding. She had planned to invite 250 of her closest business associates to a wedding being paid for by my father. She demanded that I buy a different wedding dress because Maddie would look bad in white. I look bad in cream and you can't return a wedding dress. Also, Maddie was never in the wedding party. The list goes on and on.

My pseudo sister changed my flower order from bright tropical flowers to white roses. She also changed my hotel room reservations. Her thought was that white roses were required for somber occasions. I hate roses and I hate white. Weddings are a party and not a somber occasion. As for the hotel room, I was staying within a budget and don't place a high importance on a room. She demanded that we stay in the honeymoon suite. We don't talk anymore.

So, yeah, I can see a controlling nut job being left off the guest list. The fact that she beat up her sister is evidence to say that she is. Domestic violence is usually about control.

People get weird about weddings. I am at a loss as to why but weddings just bring out the worst in people. I have never regretted eloping with our close friends.

I think your little shindig was just the right size. In fact, it may have been about the same size as our (mostly) planned wedding. I don't think that I really had any objections from anyone - and we had knives!
