tooth update
Jul. 29th, 2003 10:25 pmthe first tooth is visible enough to show some white, perhaps an entire millimeter above the gums. the second tooth is visible only as a dark oval, but from the pattern of tooth one, it looks like the major teething angst may be over. for the record, i was not kept up all night, although i did spend some of my night in the rocking chair, which i hadn't done for a while. after each tooth broke through, there was a day when sylvia ate out of all proportion, making up for lost time. yesterday, we had an afternoon double session which caused me to nearly pass out. the best part is that we have our happy baby back. i had not realized how much the tooth pain had depressed her naturally giddy personality. we're still in the orajel and tylenol stage, but we're definitely over the worst part. today there were giggles that progressed to what could only be called laughter :)

The first teeth, the first I teeth and the first molars were the most traumatic. I've heard that the final molars were the worst but we didn't know they were coming in till they were in. Anna started munching on dad, much to mom's relief, before we knew they had arrived.
