the first tooth is visible enough to show some white, perhaps an entire millimeter above the gums. the second tooth is visible only as a dark oval, but from the pattern of tooth one, it looks like the major teething angst may be over. for the record, i was not kept up all night, although i did spend some of my night in the rocking chair, which i hadn't done for a while. after each tooth broke through, there was a day when sylvia ate out of all proportion, making up for lost time. yesterday, we had an afternoon double session which caused me to nearly pass out. the best part is that we have our happy baby back. i had not realized how much the tooth pain had depressed her naturally giddy personality. we're still in the orajel and tylenol stage, but we're definitely over the worst part. today there were giggles that progressed to what could only be called laughter :)

Well, the good news is that it gets better from here. The bad news is that it only gets a little bit better each time.

Also, I'd suggest infant Motrin to alternate with the Tylenol. We seemed to get much better results from that...

well, right now we have the tylenol and the dandy <2 dosing chart for it. i'll ask the doc about motrin and probably get a sample bottle at the same time - whee!
