so, we head across town to swap the baby gate out for one that will actually open. there is a baby consignment store right next to babies r us (clever people) so i went there while [livejournal.com profile] h_postmortemus went to return the gate. i discovered that as babies get bigger their clothes gets more expensive. nonetheless, with my baby sitting loot, i got a good stack of warmer outfits for sylvia. i can't wait - lots of cozy coveralls, long sleeved onesies and such. she's getting highly mobile. she's not yet to the stage where she'll crawl across a whole room, but she'll turn and lunge towards anything she wants, such as mommy and daddy :). we're getting actual hugs! and as good as that sounds, it feels a thousand times better.

in more mundane news, we then went over to the turtles store that's going out of business. it's now at 70-80% off and we both enjoyed our purchases so much last time that we went a little nuts. my loot for this mission:

  • Choice Picks - Celebrating the 10th Annual Bluegrass Music Awards ($5. the most expensive cd in my stack)

  • Evidence Blues Sampler - Five

  • Schubert - Famous Lieder (Vocal Music/Classical Evolution)

  • Mahler - Lieder (Vocal Music/Classical Evolution)

  • kd lang and the reclines - Angel With a Lariat

  • kd lang - all you can eat (i've never gotten a kd lang cd i didn't like, and these were $5 combined)

  • Frank Yankovic & Friends: Songs of the Polka King (Vol 1) (Al's dad)

  • Holst: The Planets (Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal/Dutoit)

  • Alanis Morissette - Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie

  • The Wallflowers - Breach

  • Cherry Poppin' Daddies - Soul Caddy

yea! more cds to rip.

then we went to crystal palace and had more than enough chinese food. i also discovered the unbelievable chicken satay that has apparently always been ther, but i've never had. ah well. it's part of the non-traditional part of the chinese buffet which i tend to avoid in order to have a 'purist' experience. i also drifted over to the kiddy buffet, but not for food; sylvia got her first balloon :).

I don't know any of the others, but the Dutoit Planets is fabulous. Excellent choice!

there was a mini beany baby toy frog to which sylvia is already quite attached. don't worry, we're raising her right :). we have not hung up the swing yet, but sylvia has just gotten to where she should be able to use it. it'll be nice if we can get it up for leaf season.

How did the balloon go? (It's one of Anna greatest joys.)
