i received my rejection from asimov's today (yea!). ok, trying not to be too down because, hey, this is asimov's they get metric tons of submissions. to be honest, it has helped me get back on mission, which can be hard as i have so many missions right now. i had been feeling bad that i still haven't heard back from the company that requested an interview on tues, and as worrying about anything work-related on a weekend is futile, i will spend the weekend worrying about writing and resubmitting poems. when i received back the poem, i had to admit it's not my best work, but due to its format there's not much i can do to change it. que sera sera etc etc. to reinforce the point, i also received the latest copy of writer's digest. it's not the best writing mag out there, but it does help to feel part of the craft.

re: the above, see those run-on sentences - that's why i write poems and not prose. and yes, i know grammar matters in poetry too, but... there's a lot more room for ducking and weaving.
