magicicadamorning: you know, this work thing is really going to blow a hole in my schedule.
evening: all the driving and having my baby halfway across town was a bit wearying, but there are compensations. the company is like a refuge from the dotcom bust. i have an aeron chair and there are 2 foosball tables in the break room downstairs. the upstairs break room has a full kitchen including oven and stovetop. beverages such as coffee, tea, cocoa and chilled water are provided, while sodas are available in a vending machine at a fairly low price (.90 for a 20 oz). there is also a huge tray of snacks and a box for payment on the honor system. breaks are untimed and spontaneous and our hour lunch break went over by a half hour with no comment from anyone.
