If you had to choose between writing a 6-8 page paper on:

A) The Dukes of Burgundy and their Role in the Hundred Years War, or
B) La Chanson de Roland/Chivalry/Old French
C) I am so furious with you that this is not a clicky poll that I think that you should write about the dialect of Inspector Clouseau, fail the course, and get kicked out of the French dept.

...which would you choose?

I need to decide by this afternoon, although the paper is not due till the end of the semester.

Oh I'd totally write about the Dukes of Burgundy and how they stayed one step ahead of the Armagnacs with their souped-up carriage, Le Marshal Lee.

I'll have you know you made me actually look up the Hundred Years War and the Dukes of Burgundy just so I could make that joke. I learned a lot. *smile* I also looked up 15th Century French military ranks.

I would love to write on La Chanson de Roland, but the problem is with the scope of the paper. I could summarize it, but there is no point in that. I could make it a linguistic paper, which would be interesting, but possibly above me, and most probably a more than 6 page paper.

i can't think of a good song, therefore in my scattergories type of mind, i will leave you with refrains from istanbul no it's constantinople, no it's istanbul.... and that would be served with a side of greyuere on a millet cracker with herbs de provence with the bubbly. a magnum of it. :)
