quick cooking question

I am planning on making pork chops with corn flake coating, but because I am trying to avoid HFCS, I bought multi-grain flakes instead of corn flakes. What do you think? Will this work, or should I try harder to find organic corn flakes or skip the coating altogether?

I don't see why it wouldn't work! let us know...

is convinced that it will be icky. Maybe I'll do half with and half without.

It kind of worked. I mixed corn meal with the multigrain flakes.

Should work fine—but I'm guessing Trader Joe's has organic corn flakes if you want them. I know it's a 20-minute drive; it was for me when we were in Decatur, but it was worth it now and then.

Now that we're living closer to it, it's a lot easier. And today I discovered that they sell individually-wrapped boneless skinless chicken breasts (in an exterior bag). Man, that makes my job SO much easier, and I bet it'll be a very long time before I have to throw out chicken because it's gone bad before I could cook it.

We've been there. It's barely worth the gas $ even for 2 buck chuck. I did try at Fresh Market and they didn't have organic corn flakes either. I'm not sure if they exist. If they do, the HFCS might have been all the taste that they had.

It should work. I tend to substitute a lot of grains and generally it works out. You might have to experiment with it though. The meat coating (Shake and Bake replacement) using brown rice flour was an adventure in meat in a shell. If you want perfection the first time, probably not going to happen.

There are non-GMO corn flakes out there. I want to say Barbara's make them.

I decided to mix in corn meal with the multigrain flakes so that there would be more corn flavor. It worked out...ok, but Jeff said he would have preferred the corn flakes :p. The quest for cornflakes continues!

pork rinds with a bit of egg binder works awesomely as well. MEAT!
